180. Samuel Morse (bp. 1576–1654)
Samuel Morse was probably the son of Rev. Thomas Morse of Foxearth, Essex. [1] He was baptized on 12 June 1576 in Boxted, Essex and he died on 5 December 1654 in Medfield. [1] He married Elizabeth Jasper on 29 June 1602 in Redgrave, Suffolk. [1]
181. Elizabeth Jasper (bp. 1580–1655)
Elizabeth Jasper was the daughter of Lancelot Jasper. [1] She was baptized on 30 January 1579/80 and she died on 20 June 1655 in Essex. [1]
Samuel and Elizabeth arrived in Boston on the Increase in July 1635. [2] Samuel, age 50, was referred to as a husbandman and Elizabeth was 48. [1]
Samuel and his sons Daniel and Joseph signed the covenant to establish the town of Dedham in 1636. [2]
Samuel was admitted to the church in Dedham (referred to as Thomas) on 14 June 1640 and he was admitted a freeman on 8 October 1640. [1]
Samuel was Treasurer of Dedham in 1636. He was selectman on 20 December 1640 and 28 May 1638. He was assessor for the meetinghouse rate on 30 May 1638. He was a fenceviewer on 12 January 1640/1 and 1 March 1641/2 and highway supervisor on 1 January 1646/7. [1]

i. Samuel Morse was baptised on 1 May 1603 in Redgrave. He was buried on 11 May 1626 in Burgate, Suffolk. [1]
ii. Elizabeth Morse was baptized on 6 March 1605/6 in Redgrave. She married Robert Daniel by about 1631. [1]
ii. John Morse was baptised on 28 February 1607/8 in Redgrave. He married Annis Unknown by 1637. [1]
iii. Daniel Morse was born say 1610. [1] He married Lydia, the daughter of Anthony Fisher, by 1639. [1]
iv. Joseph Morse was baptized on 2 May 1613 in Redgrave. He died on 20 June 1654, probably in Dorchester. He married Hannah Phillips.
vi. Sarah Morse was baptized on 25 August 1616 in Burgate. There is no further record of her. [1]
vii. Mary Morse was baptized on 13 August 1620 in Burgate. She married Samuel Bullen on 10 August 1641 in Dedham. [1]
